On my other blog, I have posted the
Old Jail Museum in Albion, Indiana--which is the county seat of Noble Country. I just happened to see it when we stopped for me to take photos of this courthouse.

I think it is one of the most beautiful courthouses I have seen....

I could not take it all in in one shot.

And these are just the outside of the building.

I hope that you take the time to click on the pictures....they are even better when enlarged.

See the gentleman with the blue shirt in the above photo...we were talking to him. He suggested we go inside, and told us there were old photos on the walls taken way, way back. (He is also who told us about the
Old Jail Museum on my Pics & Pieces Blog.)
When we finally made it inside, he was in there and he grabbed a judge and told him he should take us around and tell us about the courthouse. The judge was so nice and friendly, and even took us to the third floor and opened this one courtroom that had been restored to the way it was originally. I did not take photos..I felt rude taking photos with him talking, but now I wish I had asked him if he minded.
I sure wish this were closer--I am sure I would be taking lots of photos there.

The courthouse reminds me of a castle. It is a fine-looking building. How nice that the judge gave you a tour of the courthouse!
I agree - I think that's one of the most beautiful/impressive courthouses I've ever seen! You really got the royal treatment...a tour by the judge! Lucky you!
It is a fabulous court house. I like that you shot a variety of pictures of it including some close ups.
Fine architecture!
What a wonderful courthouse! I hope you can get back there some day and get some interior pictures.
Hi Rose, Glad you all got to go into the Court House. That little town/city (Albion) has gorgeous buildings. I loved seeing the old jail ---but the courthouse is even more beautiful.... Thanks for sharing one of the most gorgeous courthouses I've ever seen.
Hugs,
Betsy
I agree that it's a mighty fine! I would love to investigate the towers and nooks and crannies. :) (But I bet they would never let me. LOL)
Wonderful detailing on this beautiful building!!!!
That is a pretty courthouse! I always like looking at the outsides and never think to stop and go inside. That was nice of the man to be so helpful and the judge, too!
We're very proud of our courthouse here in Albion; I even managed to fit a mention of it into my first two published novels. The judge was probably Robert Probst, who used to be my father-in-law -- nicest guy you'd ever want to meet.
