The old corn crib

This is the crib that was crib that you glimpse in the first photo of this post.  It has stood there for longer than I have lived...it had been a 3 or 4 years since I was near it.  The last time I saw it, it was not leaning as it is now.

Claw foot?

Not sure if this is technically a claw foot....but I consider it one.  This is a cropped portion of a shot from the flea market in Veedersburg.

Barn Charm from Indiana

This is a barn we found last weekend....one right here in Indiana and one I had never seen before.

Even it was on a curvy road...well, where it was at was curvy.  But I snapped a few quick shots.
I felt like it was a place with plenty of tales to tell.
I was so glad I glance back and saw this view as we drove on past. It gave me a completed feeling.

Another early morning shot...

As you can see frost is still heavy on the ground...the sun is just starting to hit the tree.  This was taken a few days before we headed to Tennessee.

Rusty roof....

Another from Tennessee.  Along a twisting, winding road. I think Roger paused just a second or two for me to get this shot.

Early morning fog

This is kind of different...I like it but wonder if I am alone in that.  Maybe I like it cause I was there...
This is another from the same more...both are much better if you click on them to enlarge them.

Don't be afraid to tell me if they bore you or are just not your cup of tea.

Hydrangea

The hydrangea my mom planted many years ago was blooming while we were down home.  I don't remember it blooming this late before but maybe it always did and I just don't remember.

Just because...

I like this...not sure why...so I say I like it just because I  like it.  There is something about the dark tree trunks showing through all that gold.

Tomorrow we are getting Lorelei, so I may not get commenting done....I may try to schedule a few post ahead though.

Early morning light....

This was taken a couple weeks ago..just a while after the sun came up.  I liked the lighting...and the fall colors.

Barn Charm from Tennessee

I thought I would show you the barn from the farm Roger and I lived on for a short while early in our marriage. We pass by the old corn crib on the way to the barn....
Ain't it a beauty!  Roger thinks that tree is actually helping to keep the barn from leaning.
When we lived there, I don't think the tree was any taller than the barn, if as tall.
And the barn did not have any boards missing...I have no idea how old it is.  I think it had been there as long as our family lived there.  This farm used to belong to my grandfather on my dad's side of the family.

In all the years I have seen this place I once called home, I have never seen it as grown up as it is now.  When we were kids, the people that owned it by lived in Michigan and only came down about once a year.  They paid us to keep the yard mowed...

Trusting little fellow

This was taken out at the strip pits...I crept closer and closer.  I could almost reach and touch it before I quit.

At the edge of the road

This barn was literally right at the edge of the road...and this was a quick snap as we passed by.  I have 'doctored it up' to try to provide a better view.  The original was lacking detail.

Seed pod

I think this is the seedpod of a magnolia, but if I am wrong please correct me.

Tennessee barn

Barns are about the only thing I captured while in Tennessee...and most of those were drive-bys because we were on twisting, winding roads that were dangerous to even pause on.  This was a prize find for me.

From Illinois

Every time I pass this house, I take photos of it.  It really appeals to me.  I never see anyone out, but they are probably working.

An old beauty

A great find from yesterday...from over in Illinois.  All I know is that it was north and east of Paris.  How far I cannot say.

Barn charm from drive today....

I got to take a few photos today...well more than a few...
this barn was  one of my prized captures.  I would like to pass by it at night at Christmas.  I would love to see the star lit up.

Barn

It was either barns or leaves, so since I tend to only post barns one day a week...I thought I would choose the barn.

Beauty

We had rain yesterday...almost all day long.  A lot of the pretty leaves around the neighborhood have dropped.  The green are still hanging on so hopefully we will get to see more of this color.

Friday's Fences

It is hard to see but there is a single line of electric fencing here....just couldn't resist posting this.

Brilliant color....

Did you ever seen anything more beautiful.  I bet I could photograph fall color forever and not tire of it.

Almost hidden...

I hope this photo isn't too dark for you...I know it is darker than it should be but it is how it was.  It was back under the trees and yesterday was an overcast day.  I almost didn't see it.

Barn charm of a different sort

We had Lorelei for the past three days, and took her to meet her dad today...on our way home we took the scenic route.  We always meet at the intersection that is south of Greencastle...and have never taken the 231 north from there.  So we did today...when we got to Greencastle, we headed west.
I cannot remember just how far we had gone till we turned off that road to one less traveled...but almost as soon as we turned off that road, this came into our view.
I took photos from all sides except for one and I do wonder what was on it.
As you can see the sides that I could see all had something on them...
Hope you enjoy this entry to Barn Charm!
