This was another quick snap from Vermilion, Illinois...I was shooting past Roger. Not the greats effort. I thought removing what little color there was helped. I also cropped it to remove part of the window area of the Rav's door.
I love this...it is hauntingly beautiful. There's a feeling of stark abandonment and it stirs a feeling inside that I wish I could just walk up onto that porch, open the front door and make it a home again. There was a family there once and it makes you wonder where did they go, why did they leave? It just draws you in.

It looks like the sun is going down. I really like this.
It looks like a home straight from the old movie, The Grapes of Wrath, with Henry Fonda!
LOVE this!
a great porch. you even got the shadows of the columns.
I like what 'My Main Blog' said. I feel that way too. Lovely shot. MB
shouldn't this be red in honor of Vermilion? you have the coolest names that you travel to. i like the black and white
It turned out to be a very good drive-by shot. I like the porch itself and the lighting. Nice one.

Great shot! I love old houses almost as much as old barns!
A great old front porch. Black and white is perfect for this.
