We were up at the swamp area north of Lodi, Indiana and these dragonflies were almost swarming! I kid you not, I have never seen so many of one kind of dragonfly in one spot, and they were pretty cooperative.
I got several shots, but am choosing these two for this post because they fit the title to this post. And that title is lifted directly from a comment Theresa from The RunARound Ranch Report...a comment she made on another post of mine.

Hi Rose! Oh my goodness...I am so jealous! You snapped a dragonfly! This is on my bucket list...yours is incredible! How cool is it that we have so much in common?? Baby of 8, married 38 years, loves dragonflies...OMGoodness what else....oh yeah...OLD THINGS! How could I possibly know all of these things and NOT follow you??? I couldn't...so I am!!
What great shots Rose!
Wow, I am impressed!! And they have polka dot eyes! Oh, I get it, they eat mosquitoes..
saw your title and busted out laughing! :D
Beautiful shots!! When the Blue Darners are out here we get swarms in our back yard. So far this year we've been having a bit too much rain. I love having the skeeter eaters around!
Lovely photos of nice dragonfly
I agree...there should be MORE of these skeeter eaters!!!
Love your rubbish finds too.
I like both shots of the dragonfly. You got some fine detail and isolated the dragonfly very well.
like the color of this skeeter eater..and your header is awesome
These can be challenging to photograph but you found a couple who were cooperative. Very nice.
super shot---Dragon flies are our state insect. How cool. MB
Great shots of the dragonflies. I especially like the second one. I hope they ate lots of mosquitoes. We could use a lot of them around here. The mosquitoes are terrible.
Such a pretty color!
~Lindy
Rose, Your photography is simply amazing. These are so lovely.
Dragonflies are just beginning to make appearances here. I guess the pond water must have finally reached the perfect temperature for them to hatch.
