Strange...

This was on a blackberry down at the Goose Pond area.  Not sure what it is...I wish I had examine it closer.

Ewww, I think I would snap then slowly back away. I agree that it is some kind of rot or infection. Don't touch it, you don't know where it's been!

i would say a fungus ... i think some one needs a plant doctor. or at least a good info book. ( :
