Not cold

I would not enjoy this job at any time...summer or winter.  But I suppose winter would be a bit better than summer.  This is a brick-making kiln in northern Vermillion County.

I agree, though I'm not sure winter would be much better--burning hot in front and freezing cold behind. :-)

A fine shot of this "hot" situation. I can't imagine how hot this radiates out into the workman's space.

That kiln is a very cool structure. Well, I guess "cool" isn't the right word really, but I like it. Having said that, I sure wouldn't want to do that work. Too hot for me.

I agree! I don't even like opening the oven on a hot day. I can't imagine how hot a brick kiln would feel.

I can see where it would be a very warm job in summer and perhaps even in winter. It's really a cool photo of something you don't normally see.
