Somewhere up north of us...

All these shots are of the same grain elevator...taken as we were slowly passing or paused in traffic...
Just had to convert this one to:
I think it looks like it could have come from an earlier time in B&W.
This one is from on down the road...we had stopped at a gas station...as we were leaving, Roger paused and I rolled the window down and grabbed this shot.

A fine old building, beautifully photographed. Even being stuck in traffic has occasional advantages.

Wonderful old grain elevator! They are very rare in my parts! I see tons of BIG, FAT silos in groups, though.

I like your variety of shots of this elevator. The last one helps us understand the setting the elevator and dos important it is to the complex.

I love this series. Where is this grain elevator located? I have a particular fascination and appreciation for grain elevators. My husband is a long haul trucker who frequents cattle country. I have taken many pictures of these historic and nostalgic buildings while trucking with him. Thanks for sharing!

I think b&w does add the aged look to some photos and you are right about this...it does look like it was taken years ago! I grew up near a large grain elevator that was probably about 5 miles from my home. Every year at Christmastime they placed a huge star on top and I can remember looking out my upstairs bedroom window and being able to to see it on a clear night!

Somewhere up north of us... that narrows it down a bit. I always stop to photograph grain elevators, this one has a bunch of neat signs.
