Photo overload of one subject....

We made a pass through the strip pits late this afternoon...I cannot choose just one photo so what follows is a lot of photos of two Ring-necked pheasants we saw out there.

This one above I really, really had to work with in Picasa--and it still isn't the greatest.

The one above and the one below are very similar, but am still posting them both

Look at the one below...

it had just 'shaken it off.'  If you look you can see that its feathers are ruffled...

The one above is a different bird and this is cropped from a photo that was taken at quite a distance.

And here it is again...original photo followed by a cropped version.

and below is my last pheasant photo....for now..

I am linking this to Tuesday's Treasures cause I sure consider them a treasure.  These are the only two we seen today...they are few and far between out there now.  Two or three years ago, we would have seen 8 or 10 on a spring afternoon.

Also going to link to the Bird D'Pot at I'd Rather B' Birdin'.

Definitely not overload for me. Great photos and I get like that, I can never decide on what photos.

I don't see anything wrong with your pictures. In fact, I think they are great! These pictures of an unusual and impressive and large bird make for a great post! My favorite is the one where he is all fluffed up from shaking, that is a gorgeous picture! I saw one once only. And it was before digital cameras.

It's not an overload! Each picture is different, and I like them all. This is not a bird one sees!

Wonderful photos, Rose! I am still trying to take photos of pheasants as they are so hard to find and so shy!
Loved your shots!

I just told bob yesterday when he was telling hunting tales from the past for the umpteenth time, that I have never seen a pheasant and here you have 2. I like the red around they eyes and those ruffled feathers

Stunning photos - I could have looked at a lot more - it takes a lot to overload me. LOL Beautiful colors and love the ruffled feathers. Such pretty birds - we used to have them in the field behind our house in Orangevale, CA - 30,000 acres of open land (in the early 70s, when our kids were preschoolers) and a few years ago we went back and it is just one huge suburb of Sacramento now - oceans and oceans of houses, all smashed together on unending cul-de-sacs. Our house and big yard was still there - but for how long until someone comes along and builds 5 or 6 houses on it?

...Rose your photo overload of one subject is a treasure. I don;t know much about pheasants, but we have a lot more of them locally than in years past. Thanks for stopping by, please come again.

I take lots of photos of just about everything I shoot, too. These are great shots of the pheasant with all the lovely colors.

Beautiful colours on these birds. We definitely don't see them here. The closest thing I can think of are spruce grouses.

Hello Rose!:) Each photo is delightful to see. Pheasants have such beautiful coloured plumage, and it's not a bird I see often so bring them on!!!:)
