I took a picture of the exact same bird at the trail. I didn't know it was a pheasant. I learned something today. : ) Their red face really stands out.
I like to hear the rooster crow. It is a beautiful bird. They don't fare so well anymore in our state so they hatch them in nurseries and set them free when grown

Now that is a colourful bird. Years ago we used to have three of them visit our feeders, but now we don't see them around here.
