If you will go here, and scroll down and listen to the calls of a Barred Owl--that is where the title of this post comes from. We were headed to a nearby town and took a detour to go through the strip pit area. Before we get there, we have to go through an area that is wooded. I happened to spot this owl. It is the first time I have ever seen a barred owl.

Rose, I didn't know you were posting again. I sure missed your lovely photos. The owl has always fascinated me. These are great pictures. I've yet to come across an owl. This one's face is sweet.
