Seems similar to much of the grass growing around here--- but not identical.
I looked in my book of grasses and think it's N American Wild Oats(Chasmanthium latifolium), also called Sea Oats, River Oats or Wood Oats. Native to N America especially Missouri and adjoining states. Apparently it's grown as an ornamental grass here though I've never seen it. Having said that I'll probably find it everywhere now!
I've neve been good at identifying plant life. I'm no help
