Looks freshly painted, too.

You would love my house too. Up on the chimney is a date stone ----- Cedar Hill School Built 1852 Rebuilt 1884 Sometime before 1884 there was a fire. You can find remnants of the fire up in the attic. The original slate roof is still there in places. Apparently the fire started in the attic by the fireplace that was up there.

There are still some scorch marks on the floor in the second bedroom and in what is now a linen closet and one small one in the living room (which was the main classroom. We think the attic was used as living quarters for the teacher and the second bedroom was probably another classroom.

A white barn! I love it! I would like to know more about R. Leak and his sons.

I hope they made their centenary and are still going strong, though they're probably on to R Leak's great-grandsons and -daughters by now.

Nice.

I shall have to start mining my archives as getting any new images just now is being severely curtailed! Be safe. Be well. Behave. YAM xx
