From Illinois

We never did figure out what this had been used for.  Does anyone else have any idea?  This was taken in 2009 and we have not seen it since.

Wow, I have never seen one like it. Looks like some kind of small silo for storing food, with maybe a spring house besde it?

It’s attractive, but I haven’t a clue what it was for.

Is it some kind of kiln?

A silo of some kind?

...enlarging it, it really can't be for storing grain with all the openings. I did a Google search...could be a barn?!?

That's quite interesting. I'm with Ginny in saying I've never seen one like it. Hope someone else that sees it knows what it's used for

She is a beauty that was in good shape back in 2009! A great find! Like some others, I wonder if it may have been a kiln?

I also thought a kiln but who knows? Interesting photo anyway.

I think it is some kind of kiln.

It almost looks like an old furnace or kiln. But I am not sure that it would have a house built so close to it. It is definitely an interesting structure. I like the brick work. It took quite a lot of work to build it.

It looks like some sort of kiln to me.

I have seen kilns similar to this that used to be used for drying tobacco leaves.

Looks like some kind of baking or firing place. But looks different
