Sleeping/not sleeping...

We managed to wander down to Goose Pond on this past Friday....I was hoping to see some something.  Two or three roads we wanted to go down were covered by water.   We did see a few ducks, and several hawks...and I was about to give up and head home and Lo and behold, I spotted these.  They were so far away I could not tell what they were.

I walked down till I was opposite them...I was still a distance away...though these photos are not the best, I am also amazed they are as good as they are.  The wind was off and iceberg and strong enough to cut right through a person.  If I had had an umbrella I could have become Mary Poppins.  So was luck that they are not terrible blurry just from the wind factor alone.

Thanks for taking the pictures... I've never seen a real pelican. It was windy here today too.

The only place we can see pelicans is in the zoo. Great capture of the pelicans.

Hello

The White Pelicans are cool, one of my many favorite birds to see.
Have a happy day!

How wonderful that you found these before you left. It looks like that one pelican in the first picture has a bit of insomnia :)

I've just arrived from a blog about Hummingbirds - and now Pelicans. Neither of them are ever seen in the UK and I'm very jealous! :)

They are fine close ups in that second picture.

What a treat to see all those pelicans!! When I walk in a strong wind it always makes me laugh to get pushed along by it!

The second shot is amazing. Well, I'm glad we didn't see you blow by holding on to an umbrella. :-)

We get the immature pelicans here. The ones old enough to mate got to lakes west of here. Such beautiful birds.

Gorgeous white pelicans! They are so beautiful. There is a flock that spends winters here in Maryland. It is always such a treat to see them.
