I have made a very few quilts without these items. The rotary cutter, the acrylic ruler, and the self healing cutting mat here has made cutting pieces so much more accurate and quicker. So long as it has a straight line. And there are some rulers made for cutting circles even. But as far as rotary cutting, I mainly only cut pieces with straight lines. (Though if I am cutting out an item of clothing, do use my rotary cutter to cut along the lines.)

Ingenious. I don't think I've ever seen a rotary cutter before.
I have a love hate relationship with those acrylic rulers. I don't know how many times I have been cutting and because I'm not holding it down tight enough it moves part way through the cut and my fabric gets a wonky cut. I've also sliced a finger on a rotary cutter. Those things are sharp.
I used to have these 'can't do without' implements, but not any longer.

How nice to see the tools you use.
A great introduction to tools used while quilting. It reminds me of my architectural tools that I gathered just yesterday in preparation of my move. We also used a self-healing mat when using Xacto blades.
Excellent to share tools of your trade. I used a different kind of cutter on a similar mat for scrapbooking.
You put these tool to very goo use. I use a cutting mat like that sometimes with my art.
Great tools but I am not sure what a self-healing mat is.
That rotary cutter would sure save time and fingers.

Having not ever having made a quilt, it looks complicated! These are interesting tools. I love the colors. Beautifully composed.
