This is from the archives. I am not even sure what these are. They are growing up from the roots of a maple tree we had taken down several years ago. It is a cropped portion of the one and only photo I took.
I have never seen anything like this but when I push down on photo and searched using google lens it came up with farmed mullusk is what it is. i dont think that is right. really odd

Wow!!! Some kind of weird fungus? One of them looks kind of like an eyeball.
looks like fungi or mushroom of some variety !! Impressive shot !!!
Fungus amungus--- By the way, my flowers yesterday were from a dogwood tree. My sister-in-law reminded me. Too far up for a downward shot.
That's simply fascinating. I would guess some kind of fungus. The one at the top middle looks like an eyeball.
Bird nest fungus? No matter...slimy & creepy!!

SO interesting in shape and texture.
Looks very interesting .
Some strange fungus it looks like. Interesting.
That is one of the strangest things. It almost looks like alien plants growing from the roots haha. That one root looks like it has an eye.

It's an artistic photo. 😊
They remind me of what we called puff balls. The ball would grow and then explode and what looked like smoke was actually spores coming out.

I have no idea, but these appear to be pods.
