I have no idea how long it took to get these photos...the wind just would not stop...I have photos that only a corner of the wing appears in. I never could get a good photo of the one above. Not that it is that great, it is just the best of the bunch of it.
I finally did get some pretty good ones of this Swallowtail...

Hi Rose, We'd never know that it was windy... You got some GREAT pictures.... Love the blue on the Swallowtail.... Leedra posted some butterflies today also.

These are beautiful! I had to laugh a little at your comment about the wind. I was watching a butterfly on our phlox the other day. It was like it was drunk on the scent of the phlox - just fluttering all over and wouldn't sit still at all!
I think with butterflies you need a lot of patience, especially if the wind is blowing at all...but you did good. The second one, especially, is excellent!

I have seen only a couple of swallowtails so far this year. These photos are wonderful, Rose!

I think these are wonderful photos, Rose. The fact that it was windy when you took them makes them even more impressive.
The butterflies are pretty; you did a great job photographing them!
