We swung by Green Valley on the way home from Sarah's house today...believe it or not an old strip pit area that has been turned over to the state as long as I have lived in Indiana at least. It is a public fishing area.

I chose a spot and just stood there and let the dragonflies come to me. I was about ready to leave when I notice this guy was having a mid-afternoon snack. I don't know what it was eating.

It brought that old line from Hee Haw to mind and I thought what a perfect title....

What great images! You braved some awfully brutal heat and humidity today to get these shots.
Haha, I'd almost forgotten about Hee Haw and Grandpa!
A fine series of this dragonfly doing its thing. Nice detail and color. Very well done, Rose.
These are wonderful macros of the dragonfly. Very well done!
HI Rose, Whatever he was eating, it looked like it might have been almost as big as he is --at one time... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Great photographs of the dragonfly!
Wonderful close-ups!! Great captures--super.
Those are really neat pictures!
Wow...great series! Since we've been discussing names in our emails, that is an Eastern Pondhawk male :-) However, I can't identify the victim! LOL
Looks like some kind of bug. Cute shots!
