Old Barn from the Land of Lincoln

I ran across this the other day when looking through the archives and immediately thought I would use it today.
I am not sure where it was taken...somewhere over in Illinois. It looks like it has been in a bit too much wind. If you want to join the Barn Charm Meme, check out Tricia's Bluff Area Daily blog.

What a great barn! This is probably one of my favorites out of all the barns I have seen.

WoW! That's AWESOME! What's the deal called on top? The cupola? Whatever it is, it's HUGE! I've never seen one that big!!!
Excellent find, Rose!!!

Thanks

Gosh, and I thought steel roofs were forever!
The idiosyncrasies of barn construction are mind bending. This one is AAA+

I love the form and rich earthy color at the peak portion of the barn...and so many openings...just lovely!

Both shots are great. I like the barn and the tree.

That is very nice! I'd like to see that with snow on the ground.

It may be old but it certainly is unique!
I was going to do this meme. I forgot. Guess there's next week. :)

Hi Rose, Neat looking barn.... You always find the neatest barns!!!! Looks like that one is still in good use --even though it desperately needs a new roof.
Hugs,
Betsy

Love the character of this barn! What a story it must have to tell.

This is a massive old mess, but it's still standing and obviously is still getting some use. Lovely shots, Rose!

Super shot, Rose. What a neat barn--looks like many out here. And it is still being used if only for storage.

I am taken aback by no green anywhere. We are green year around. Blogging is a good geography lesson. MB

This is a great old barn with lots of detail and appeal in its construction. I would wonder what the higher section in the middle housed...perhaps a lift. Very strong barn picture.

Very rustic looking barn and it's huge. I also wonder what's in the middle of the barn. It looks like a tower to watch the farmers? Great shot and thanks for sharing!

What a grand old barn; wonderful cupola in need of a some (a lot) of TLC.

This barn does have a lot of charm, even if it does need a lot of TLC as Sunny said.

Great....seems so typical of the ones I saw while crossing Illinois. They all seem to have that top part.
