Of all the knives my husband has made, this is probably my favorite one....I don't usually like bigger knives but I sure like this one. Most would probably consider it normal size...it is made for one of his friends/fellow retirees. His friend supplied the antler/horn for the handle. We don't know what it is from. He picked it up somewhere in his travels.
It was a lot rougher before my husband worked the handles. The bit of brass on the butt of the knife is an added touch that just sets the knife off in my opinion.
I really like this view because it shows the handle to advantage....

This is a beautiful knife. Roger is truly an artist at this.
I'll have to echo George and say Roger is a great craftsman. You can tell he takes his time and puts pride in his work.
In answer to your question, Lucy likes just to play. It doesn't matter about doors so much as being able to put things in something and take something out. :)

I collected knives for awhile, and I would have given my eyeteeth for something as great as this! It is gorgeous; a true work of art. The craftsmanship just shines!
Although I still have some knives, I've given many away to our son and don't collect them anymore.
