The above is a house we passed a few weeks ago...I wish I knew reason why it was allowed to fall into such sad shape.

For those interested in the Questionmark butterfly in my last post, if you will read the comments, Mary tells how to tell that it is a Questionmark. Either last year or the year before, we went through this same thing and I had totally forgotten how to tell. And had forgotten all about the Comma butterfly till Theresa of the Run A Round Ranch mentioned it.....

Gosh, what is that on the ground in the front, is that part of the house? It is such a wonderful cottage type house, I guess it has had no inhabitants and no one to love it for a long, long time.
Isn't that GORGEOUS. I'm always surprised when a pretty house like that falls into disrepair. What a shame.
that house would have been beautiful in its hay day, it is pretty now, but screams with neglect. the front part falling off made me think of our church here that was built in 1884, the steeple is full of termites, it is in our historical village and is used for weddings. they need 75,000 to repair the steeple.

A fine shot of this sad looking, but very stylish place that was once very beautiful. I too wonder why someone chose to stop maintaining such a good looking house.
I wonder about those old abandoned houses too. How do they not belong to anyone anymore?
