My SIL thinks it may be the seed pod for an onion plant.

It's a very interesting plant with those pod-like seeds or blossoms. It is a strong attention getting image.

Great photos -it is the seed pods of Queen Ann's Lace - it is in full bloom here right now - all along the sides of the roads.
