From Illinois, in 2008
I have been looking for one particular photo for the past hour or two, but instead kept going down memory lane looking at other photos. Anyway, I ran across this set of photos. I have posted some of them before but I don't remember which ones.
I know the area these are locate-- somewhere south of St Rd 36, somewhere past the Indiana/Illinois state line, and east of Tuscola, Illinois. I could see the tops of them from 36.
I have spent hours looking for them on google earth and never can find them!
We have ran across a few of these, but not very often.

I zoomed in a bit...
I would love to see the inside of the buildings.
I don't have any idea of when these were built...
And I will give you this last view. And I hope you enjoyed them.

Very different from any silos I've seen.
So unusual! I would really like to see these in person,
I've been doing the same recently... searching for photos as well as cleaning up my hard drive to make room for more photos. I keep getting side tracked and discovering images I haven't edited and posted or those I've completely forgotten about! It's been a nice trip down memory lane! Great images.
They made a remarkable subject with their unusual design and color. A fine series.

This style is new to me. Thanks for sharing it.
They look to me to be silos of some sort - perhaps the center one is a barn? I wonder about those little windows at the top - wonder why they are there. What a treasure these photos are - unique and so interesting.
These look like they are from another place and time. Love the last shot showing the harmonious greens of the roof and grass.
