Waiting...

This shot was taken over in Illinois one evening in November in 2008.  Every time I run into it it makes me pause.  It is as if they were waiting for the farmers to return.  But it was late evening and I think they were done for the day.

Waiting for the next morning I suppose, but that's a lot of expensive equipment to leave standing in a field.

It is an arresting picture for what it suggests. This temporary rest is for the men, the machines need some maintenance but no rest.
