Red Bellied Woodpecker

I had so many I could not choose just one...

I usually only get in two or three shots before it takes off...

And to tell the truth the photos below may be a different bird.  The bird above flew away...and a few minutes later I thought it came back.  And it may be the same bird but notice the one messed up feather in the following photos.

The bird/s were sure active.

And one last shot, very similar to one above:

They are beautiful pictures! Hmmm, could he he have done something to that one feather in the short time he was gone? I can see where you could not choose, each picture has it's own special beauty. I think #5 is my favorite, because look how the sun is hitting the red head!! It is shining! But the pictures on each side of it look almost like he is looking at us. A wonderful series, sharp and close!

What a beauty! (or beauties). Must be getting hungry at this time of year if it's spending longer on the feeders.

It was nice to see the different pose of the bird. They look colorful. I would feel relaxed when i spend time with them...

I LOVE Red Bellied Woodpeckers. They frequent my suet feeder and they live in the back yard in a tree that is dying. They find plenty of bugs out there! You are making me yearn for the Spring even more than I do now.

Hello, pretty series on your Red-bellied Woodpecker. They do love the suet.

Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

A fine series of this great looking woodpecker. If it's two birds that is ok. Very well done.

Beautiful Woodpecker. I don't think we have that one out here. May be the same bird-who knows.
I've been off the computer for a few days but here I am again. LOL

Looks like the same bird to me, Rose, and a beautiful one at that. The red-headed Woodpecker is one of my favorite birds here. I will send you a picture.
