This door is located in Bridgeton, Indiana(<is a link to some posts with more pics from Bridgeton)...a very small place. They do not even have a gas station.
Bridgeton does have a roller mill and is one of the main centers of activity for the Covered Bridge Festival every year in October

At one time, it must have been beautiful.
A very characterful door and windows. "Gas stations", as you call them, have disappeared from many, many places here as supermarkets have added petrol pumps and car-washes to the list of the services they provide and have undercut the prices of the smaller sellers.
Interesting old place-- So many small, rural towns, away from major population areas are nearly dead.
That must have been a grand building in its day. Love the windows and doors.

Those are really cool pictures, Rose. Sometimes old things are beautiful. I am partial to brick walls, as my mom's kitchen was all brick. : )
