High and dry....

I should have taken a video of this little guy...he was almost stranded up there.   He was resting there on his belly and his feet could not touch anything.   He had all 4 legs flailing about and almost never got down.

I don't know what he did different, but he finally managed to totter off one side.  For some reason he did not want to enter the water at this point.

He pulled himself back up on the log and proceeded about a foot down the log to slide off the end.  Just want to say I am calling it a 'he' but I really don't know if he is a 'he' or a 'she.'

I don’t live in an area where I can go see turtles. I am sure we have them but I just enjoy seeing your photos.

Makes you wonder how he got into a position where his feet couldn't touch the ground in the first place. Mind you I've got myself in some tricky situations in my time and couldn't figure out how I got there either!

Sometimes it is fun to watch the turtles. At times, they can feel helpless when their movement is hindered by their shell.

They are fascinating to watch--- but they are a bit ... uh... odoriferous. Great pictures.

Well he's a fine looking turtle. It's always fun to watch wild life. Don't you wish you could know what they are thinking sometimes.

Beautiful colors and eye-catching patterns in its shell!

because it is quite handsome and beautifully marked, I will call it a he. another reason I think it is male is because he got stranded up on top of the log, just like Bob does... ha ha

I call my frogs "he" too. I wonder why. Watching nature in action always a bit of serenity to my soul.

So much more colorful than the box turtles that come into our north yard, but they are fascinating to watch, sort of like miniature tanks in their ability to navigate obstacles. Your photos were striking.

Beautiful nature shots of this turtle in his daily adventures. Who knows what was lurking in that water!

What an unusual looking fellow, but cute in its own way. I think it looks like a "he" too. I'm glad he was able to crawl away. : )

Funny! I love seeing the turtles, as you know. Mine are always so far away, I can't really observe them very well.
