This handsome bird was in a tree beside the highway...these I show you are taken while I sat in the Rav4...

I got out and walked across the road to see if I could get a better view without all the twigs in front of her/him but it was even worse. S/he just watched me. I wasn't right under him, but I was sure not far away. I went and got back in the Rav4 and there were two or three cars passed right after and it finally flew away.

What a great find in these photos! The talon in the first photo is impressive. We had a few sightings here near Lake Michigan back in September that took me by surprise. I tried to scope the lakefront thereafter but to no avail.

A magnificent bird to see. The few eagles we have in the UK are only found in very remote mountain regions.

The male bald eagles have shorter or smaller beaks. The length of the beak is measured from the top or the protruding end to the chin of the eagle. Female bald eagles have an audibly lower voice than the male bald eagles. The pitch difference between male and female bald eagles can be easily observed.
NOW! your mission if you should choose to take it, is next time measure that beak and when you do it will start to scream at you and you can decide if it is lower or higher voice. got it? beautiful shots
