Wow, these are stunning! They look like high priced Japanese art blocks. What a coincidence that the comment above mine has Japan in the title!!
I like the second one because it's softer. But they both impress us with the cold.
Beautiful simplicity. I always admire the way that snow transforms the landscape.
There's a case to be made for each--- I think the additional clarity adds interest to the "bones" of the trees.

I think your subtle adjustments to brightness and contrast (and perhaps sharpness, tho this might just be the contrast) have lead to an improved image.
I like it right from the camera. I would love to have a snowy day like this.
I always like pictures like this. The snow and the cloudy sky makes it like a really different place. I really like the line of trees.
I like both photos, but my eye is drawn to the first.
I like the first one better cause you can see the trees clearer with all that white wintery snow. But the second one looks like a foggy day, which I love. We have had a few foggy days here as well.
