Big Boy Tomato

I only have two tomato plants...this one being the Big Boy variety.  The best I could tell, it has four tomatoes.

I used to grow some of these with the children at school - any varieties that were either bigger or smaller than usual used to capture their attention!

I wish I would have planted some tomatoes. Of course the rabbits would have probably gotten them but there's nothing like picking a tomato fresh from the vine

We always plant big boy tomatoes, they are my husbands favorite. Ours are not where yours are at though, it maybe awhile yet for them.

I have tried planting tomatoes and they ended up infested with pests.

I know you are anxious for them to ripen.

It's a beauty! And big boy says he did not know that he had a tomato named after him but that it is worthy of his name

Oh, I remember having that variety, years ago. They were fantastic tomatoes .

Wow! You're very far along with tomato growth! I'm just getting blossoms. You must not have the cool temperatures associated with Lake Michigan.

It will be a really nice tomato! Just to let the squirrels get to it before you do. One time I had a beautiful tomato and I watched it every day and the day I went out to pick it a squirrel had taken it off the vine and bit into it. I was not happy!

Oh dear Rose that is a big boy! Here in the Philippines tomatoes are eaten as they are, but I can't. I love it though on my burgers HAHA

We have 17 tomato plants. Have to make lots of sauce to get us through the winter :-)
That is nicely shot.

There's nothing like homegrown tomatoes, Rose. Imagine what it's going to taste like when it's ripe. My Dad had a garden, and he would bring in the nicest looking veggies, and my Mom would have them for dinner that night.

mmmm, fresh home grown tomatoes are the highlight of summer - oh wait, I forgot yesterday's blackberries. Oh yeah, and freshly picked sweet corn.
