Thistle joy!

The first photo is usually what I think of when I think of thistle blooms...and I think they are just beautiful.

Driving on down the road out of the corner of my eye I caught this one.  I just stopped, backed up, turned the car off and rolled down my window.  It was a totally lucky shot as the background is an old rundown two story house that has all these shade trees.  Who would have thought that dark background was natural.

I did not notice the critter on the right side till I downloaded the pics.

I think they are pretty as well. But your shots go even beyond pretty! They are glorious art.

Wow Rose! These look so beautiful! The second one looks very captivating and would huge hang a print of that on any part of the house and it sure will bring energy and life!

Not a true thistle - more likely a knapweed (centaurea) variety - but very very pretty!!! YAM xx

Those photos are awesome! And it's hard to believe the background on the last one but I have had a similar thing happened sometimes it blows out white and sometimes it blows out black and this one is awesome. I love it!

That last photo is so awesome. It looks like something not quite real - nature is amazing isn't it :)

I think the blooms are beautiful too and your capture is outstanding!!

they are both nice shots. I agree the blooms are nice but regret they lead to more thistles. I remember my grandfather's pastures, grazed low, with nasty thistles sticking up. I was tasked with taking some of them down. Incidentally, the bloom against the black almost looks like it has had a haircut.
