She's a beauty, for sure! My grandmother cooked on a wood cookstove until I was grown. I remember that hers was green. Lots of good memories there!
My grandmother had one of those, and that's what my mother learned to cook on. :)
I don't remember those at all, though there were plenty of kitchen ranges that were the focal point of any farmhouse kitchen, especially in winter.
I remember my mother's stove...I remember adding wood....wow, are we ancient or what? lol

It is a cool stove, I love the more modern stoves they have now.

I like the design of the stove where there is a shelf to place the salt, pepper and etc.
My Mom's was a black one, but I do remember it clearly. Also had an Aunt and Uncle that had one for many years after.
Wow! That takes one back in time! A great find that recalls so many memories.

We lived in Kentucky from 1953 through 1959 and about half the houses in that town this is what they cooked on so I have seen them and eating food from them many times but mother never had one
I'm sure my mother had one too, but I don't remember it.

we had a similar stove like this when i was young Rose...
believe it or not they are making modern stoves like this that burn gas... and they cost a fortune....peter:)

is this coal or wood burning? I can imagine scrambling some eggs on the top, but the challenge of baking seems beyond difficult

I am on the hunt for an old gas stove this very minute. There are a lot of them tucked away in garages and barns. My problem? I am looking for one that has an oven big enough for my turkey roaster!
