While I wonder at that (injuries) I also marvel at the complexity of these things - gears and belts and chains, levers and pedals. Who could think of these things? And make them work!
This does seem to have the potential to do some harm!
They weren't nearly as careful about safety in those days.
Lovely rusty rustiness...it's hard to believe how poor health and safety compliance was just a few decades ago.
I see piles of rusted machinery & my first thought is "There has to be a rat in there, somewhere!"

I don't know what it is but it does look like it could be a bit dangerous.
It definitely looks quite treacherous for someone to put their hands in!
We both think rust is beautiful and we both love rest but I think that this one really looks dangerous you're right about that

That is certainly something to think about. It seems that in years gone by people were not always very cautious.
A neat shot of this old rusty machinery. As a kid, I remember farmers getting arms and legs caught in tractor mounted corn pickers when they tried to quickly clear jams.
rust has the best textures to photograph Rose... and you have showed us some great shots this week... this is quite the machine that you found....peter:)
One could easily lose some body parts in there.
Interesting shot. The thought 'rust and dust' popped in to my mind.
There definitely looks like a lot of places where you could get hands or fingers caught and injured or even worse. A great image.
