I finally got to take a few shots of dragonflies yesterday....

so thought I would show these three first.

We were on a little country road...it was a dirt road so narrow it would have been hard to pass anyone. You know, one of those where you have to find a place to pull over to let the other car pass.

I really like the first and bottom dragonfly pictures. The lighting and color are good for both pictures. I don't like the branch in front of the second one.
These are spectacular close ups of these flies. I like the minute detail right down to the tiny segments of their wings. Very well done.
And so the old joke: I've never seen a dragon fly!
Nice shots, Rose.
Re the gps...they can be great, but be careful 'cause they can lead you astray, too. Don't rely on that exclusively. One time near Jacksonville, our GPS wanted to send us in the opposite direction from where we wanted to go!
I think these pictures of the dragonflies were worth waiting for -- these are fabulous.
Neat pictures.... Don't you just love going down the country roads??? We love them--and go down our share of them when we are searching for waterfalls.
Hugs,
Betsy
Widow Skimmers are one of my favorites and I haven't seen them yet this year for some reason. I think their wings are so pretty.
These are really magnificent, Rose. I especially like the first one. Great detail!
