This first shot is not so good, but just wanted you to see this lichen in perspective...it was on the top of these posts. They were about 30 inches high...give or take an inch or two. Roger noticed it...not me.

I have never seen it with the red. If you will click the above picture to enlarge it, you will notice that the red is like a pod containing the lichen. At least I call this lichen. If you know different, please be sure to say so.

It IS beautiful!!! I have never seen any with red, either, maybe it is Christmas Lichen!!! And your header is gorgeous, too!!!
Yes it is!
Very pretty, a lovely splash of red colour. I love your header shot.
Yes, it is very beautiful. Great capture.
You know all I am looking at is the header don't you. :)
Wow, never seen that before either
Yes, it is... like fence post jewels! Love that! You obviously look as closely at things as I do...
Very Christmasy looking!
This would have been a great Friday's Fences post. :)
it is beautiful, up close and backed off aways. I have never seen this before and agree it looks like Christmas... what a find from your hubby, mine is good at pointing out things i miss
I've never seen anything like this that is so red. Fine close up. The enlargement is needed to fully appreciate this fine shot.
yhis is such a lovely lichen! I took a similar photo a year or two ago...but I think you took a much better shot.
