Barn from the Land of Lincoln....

We saw this barn over in Illinois the other day...it was about the only one I could shoot with any success.

So I am showing several images.

I had to convert one or two to black and white.

I hope you enjoy my entry to Tricia's Barn Charm meme!

I like the weathered wood on this one and the way the boards are coming loose up in the point of the roof.

the peeling-up planks make for some great shadows on that mow overhang! :)

That's an interesting one. Those front boards are good subjects.

This is a great barn. It looks like one side was red at one time. I like the black and white images. Pamela

It has such an usual shape and shows evidence of lots of patching over the years. Nice shots!

I like the roof slope on this, and the warping boards on the overhang add a lot of texture.

Ohhh I like it...and that thing at the top...cool!

How fortunate for your photo to catch that bold shadow across the barn. Looks like Mr. Lincoln's barn is struggling to stand. Hope the weather is kind to it this summer.

Beautiful! Very nice work!

Enjoyed this very much. Love that overhang above what I'm guessing is the hay loft.

Several interesting things about this barn. First, unusual shape...love the different shades of the boards. And the warping boards definitely add character. I love the shadows created by the overhang too!

Looks like you get to see this barn really close. I wish I could shot barns too close not just drive by shooting. There are more to see in a barn like what you have shown here. Thanks for sharing.

This is such a classic barn. Too bad someone didn't care enough to keep up with her. You got some really nice photos of her.

Boy, it's an oldie for sure. The weathered wood is really beautiful. I suppose it will just fall down someday and someone will bulldoze right over it. Sad. MB

The black and whites sure show the weathered wood in detail. I think they're my favorites!

Love the weathered wood, the hint of red paint and what I noticed right away the shadows. They look
3-D. I keep going back and looking at those shadows. Neat!
