Actually, I am pretty sure this was along Route 1, and south of Danville, but how far south I don't know. I wonder how long it has sat there...what happened that it was left sitting there?

always so sad to see places like this just wasting away. but they do have a character all their own and make for great photo subjects. we're left to make our own stories up unless we live close enough to know the story behind its abandonment. hope all is well~

looks like a very old passenger train car. wonder if the tracks were near and how it got there. i really like the look of it, rust and all

Yep, an old passenger train car. Makes one wonder what purpose someone used it for. Maybe storage of some kind.

Wow it is quite ramshackle isn't it? Can you imagine how it would have looked when it was in use - I bet it was wonderful.
Wow. People can actually get tax credits for keeping a train car or caboose on their property. I'm surprised that someone didn't 'rescue' it while it was still in rescue condition.
Neat shot, but kind of sad too.
