Feathered visitor....

I think this is a house finch...someone told me once how to tell the difference between them and the purple finch, but I don't remember who for sure.  I think it might have been Mary.  If I am wrong, feel free to correct me.

I think looking at it's bill and where it's red it's a house finch.
The purple finch is more of a pink red overall color and has a different shaped bill. I think. :)

House finch...and a very pretty one. I have photos of both next to each other on my sidebar. The Purple finch doesn't have the dark belly stripes. I don't see the purple finches very often. My House finches have been coming around lately in the cold.
