I came across this place out in Parke County....I have no idea what it was...on a road leading back to these below. Notice the little slot of an opening to the left of the front door. It really makes me curious.

No trespassing signs were every where, of course.

Could the little slot have been for an ice box? The ice itself sat outside in the box so it dripped outside as the ice melted.
hmmm. lois' theory is pretty interesting!
Looks like a delivery window of some sort. The building looks like a business with those tall windows. I hope some of your commenters will know.

Oh wow, this one is a mystery. It could be an office of some kind. Hmm...we have an old building not far from us and we have no idea what it was. I should post about it sometime.
It looks like an old Post Office---maybe? I like the older buildings and feel sorry for them just wasting away. MB
This is a very interesting place with the converted windows...and that strange slotted window. The stacks, too, are a puzzle. Very good and provocative post! Have great weekend.
These are great pictures of the old building and ruins. I'm glad you were out exploring and got these photos to share with us.
Wonderful photos of the decaying building.
Perhaps a medical office? Certainly is a thought-provoking sight!
You find the most interesting buildings. I think you are a magnet for odd buildings and notice everything that most of us would miss seeing :-) For some reason a post office was the first thing that came to mind, but I don't really think that is what it is.
