I thought first about trying to round up all my round barn photos...and I happened across this one while looking for something else. This one is down close to Washington, Indiana.
And this one is from south of here as well, but I couldn't find it if I had to...
Anyway, those are my barns.....I am not sure what the following would be classified as. I part of the time think they are just for grain storage, but then some days I think there might be a bit more to them.
The top one we seen somewhere in our travels...but I think it is over on the western side of Illinois, but I couldn't swear to it. If I could find where I posted it before, it might tell me more than I know now, but I am running late getting this ready to post, so not taking time to look it up.The ones below, I could eventually find...
They are over in Illinois, south of U.S. Route 36....east of Tuscola, Illinois...but just where I am not sure. I know I seen the tops of them from the highway...and we went on a hunt and found them. When I spied their roofs from the highway, I thought I had found more round barns...
I was not too disappointed when I found these instead.
I just think they are so interesting...
Anyway, even though they may not technically be barns, I hope you find them of interest.

they are fascinating!!! definitely vented like grain bins and connected with the elevator or whatever they call it. just have never seen anything like it! so cool!!!

What are these last ones, yes, VERY interesting, I have not seen anything like them! Even the building materials are so unusual! Some of these look like our church! Totally round so the devil can't corner us!
Rose, this is a wonderful series! That last bunch look like silos because of the venting, but whatever they are they are really unique.
Well those are absolutely interesting barns indeed. Most unusual. Really cool too!!
These are fascinating buildings. Being firmly entrenched in the city, I know little about the workings of farms, so I just admire from a distance.

I used to live in Illinois and we had quite a few of them in our area (NW). I miss seeing them. These were a nice reminder.

Those are really nice looking barns. It's hard for me to tell what the roof on the green barn is constructed of. I believe it shingles but am not sure.

The round barns are really neat and interesting looking. There was one in Eastern Washington for about 120 years and finally fell down. But it was a beaut. Not typical for out this way so they are always fascinating to see. MB
this is a first for me and ditto what Tex said, they are all fascinating, what ever they are. i like that round barn, woo hoo, did not know they existed. something new every day.

Rose they are a treat to look at! Uniquely round for sure! They are very charming :) I would love to see one up close and get inside. The white with the green and brown roofs/rooves make for a cool contrast. And they are beauties sitting there in all that green landscape!
