these thorns a little bit like the ones on our bougainvillea bush, but these have more and longer. ouch is the word for sure... you should see bob's arm, and he did wear a long sleeve shirt. I am going to try to get him to let me take a photo of his arm...

WE HAVE THESE DREADFUL TREES ON OUR PROPERTY! They are Honey Locust and the thorns will puncture a tractor tire. There were two in our front yard when we bought this house and the first thing my husband did was to cut them down. With three boys thrilled to finally live in the country, it was a disappointment to have to avoid playing in the front yard. There were more on our back property and my husband has cut them down; however, more keep sprouting. Horrible, horrible, horrible trees.

Ouch indeed! I have to prune the thorns off my thorned honey locust! I remember coming across them for the first time about 15 years ago and they were just below eye level as I was mowing the lawn.
Yikes, that does look like it would hurt if you got too close. That's a cool picture though. : )
