A little arachnid for your viewing pleasure--or not

Sarah and Lorelei noticed him on our front porch one night when they were here last.  Sarah held flashlight, so I could focus on him, and was able to capture some half decent shots.

Friday's fences

First this one from a couple weeks ago...on our way home from Nashville, Indiana.
Then I wanted to give you a couple views, almost the same but not quite.  They are definitely better when enlarged.
Which one do you like best, the one with the headlights or the one without.

Linking to Friday's Fences.

Tennessee barn....

This is from a couple or three years ago.  I still have a lot of barn shots to show from that drive.  I love the vivid green and the weathered wood.

Autumn gold

This was taken the end of August....I thought then that our autumn would be shortened from lack of rain.  Since then we have had enough till I am in hopes of a longer season.

Another autumn flower...

Just another yellow autumn flower...can you tell the wind was blowing? I love that it was backlit.

Mural from Nashville, Indiana

A few days ago we headed out for the day...just to get out and about.  We ended up at Nashville, Indiana.  The back side of the parking lot was this block wall and it was covered in murals...this one was wonderful. At least I thought it was.
This was the plaque under it.

Great Blue Heron

I went fishing at Mansfield, Indiana the other evening...almost the whole time I was fishing this Great Blue Heron was up the creek at the base of the dam.  I was there for over an hour and I did not see him catch anything...and neither did I for that matter.  Finally, he flew up to this building that was just behind me about 30-40 feet.  I definitely got the feeling I was in his fishing spot, so I eased back to the Rav4, got my camera and snapped a few pics and left him in peace after a few minutes.

Hawk....

We have not seen many hawks this summer...I seriously doubt we have seen a dozen.  Compared to used to if we took a day trip, we might have seen close to a dozen.  The other day when I drove through the strip pits on my way to Paris, I spotted this one.  First on the ground and then in the air when I stopped to try to capture him.  He definitely looks bigger in the air than he did on the ground.

The color of autumn

Is it just me, or does everyone else think there is a lot of yellow that comes with the season?  I happen to like yellow anyway...so I really enjoy seeing it.

Yard art from Windy Ridge Farm

Remember all the pretty daylilies I showed a while back...well, this yard art was there, too.
With one thing and another, we have yet to make it back up there.  And Lorelei was sick back when the flowers were so pretty and didn't get to go.  She had a cold/allergies that just hung on and on.
