From my yard

 It looks like something is eating on the leaves...this is the first time I have ever seen damage on their leaves and I have had them for years and years.

Just one of several blooms from the Trillium--the girls planted them when they were still home and still in school.  I am not sure if it is the one called Toadshade or if it is the Prairie Trillium.  I like to think it is the Prairie Trillium because we live in West Central Indiana.

In reading I also learned that Trillium is called Wake Robin...I had always heard of Wake Robin but had never thought to look it up.

Another plant that the girls planted for me when they were young were these:

Virginia Bluebells.  These are a bit past their prime, but you can tell that they are really beautiful.

Mayapple, butterfly

I thought I would show the Mayapple plant in its entirety...it is not a real apple.  All parts of the plant are poisonous.  I thought I had heard it was poisonous, so looked it up and happened to find that it is also called American Mandrake or wild mandrake and ground lemon.  All my life, I  always heard it called Mayapple....

Mayapple blossom

Another plant commonly found in the eastern woods.  I also have some of these in my yard.  In a shady corner up against our house.  Our daughters dug up Mayapple roots, some Jack in the pulpit roots, and some trillium....and lets not forget Bluebells.  This blossom is from the wild, though.

Dutchman's breeches and ???

I had the opportunity to photograph some wild flowers yesterday...I am not as agile as I used to be so getting up and down off my knees is not so easy.  So I am for sure not getting down on my belly!  So these are the best I could do...the top is Dutchman's breeches

This one I have not tried to identify...it is almost like a wild bleeding heart.

 And I know the name of this but cannot say it for the life of me.  Do you ever do that--know something but can't say it?  I always say my brain has hit a blank spot.  Maybe a better word would be it has hit a scratch--remember how records used to get scratched. 

Oh, it's a Trout Lily!  I found it on the net...did not even have to look at the picture.
