Eagle...

We saw this eagle not a mile from here...I was trembling with excitement.  Just could not believe we were seeing it where we seen it.
I took a dozen pictures or more, none were very good but at least you can see it...
Any day we see an eagle is a good day!

From autumn...

I don't remember which autumn this is from...but I don't remember ever posting it.  But that isn't saying much.  I have been known to post the same photo twice in a month!

It make me thing of Garth from Wayne's world....does anyone else see this at all?

From the Land of Lincoln

Taken in the midday sun, a couple or three years ago.  I don't think I have ever posted it...I used Picasa HDR and Boost to make it passable to post.  I don't remember which town this was in, but one on Route 1 in Illinois.  I am thinking Georgetown, but not positive.

For Good Fences

We came across this a couple weeks ago...
Kind of interesting to look at up close...
Then on down the way near the house, there were more...I only took photos of these three...there were only a few more.  I don't recall why I didn't photograph all of them.
Just for fun, here is our granddaughter in 2010...

I have no memory

Going through the archives last night, I came across this...I have no idea where it was taken, or what sort of building it was.  I think it is kind of unique.

Queen Anne's remains...

I altered the color because it was just so bland...
I altered the above a little...
Then a bit more...

For the Barn Collective

I am showing a place we ran across a couple or three weeks ago.
They are starting to lean and fall apart...
I think this is really a corn crib, but not positive.   And remember to click to get a better view!

They are my entry to Amy's Barn Collective.

We had been watching pheasants disappear into the weeds.  I was not even attempting to photograph them because the dried weeds and grass was just too much.  It took me totally by surprise when this one flew towards the road but behind us.
I was totally unprepared and did not get focused good.  He was just there and gone.  I have played wit this trying to improve it but not sure I succeeded.

Waiting for the day

I am trying to wait patiently for the day when I can again attempt to photograph subjects such as this.

Bright and beautiful....

I snagged these yesterday...
they have been touched by the boost and HDR effects in Picasa.  I find either one or both of those saves the day with a lot of my photos.

For Good Fences

These are from last September....I cannot believe I have not already posted them but have checked a couple times and have not found them. This top one is at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge.

These last two are from the town of Madison, Indiana
I wonder how old these are....and wonder if any company does such beautiful work these days.

Entering Aladdin's cave

This was the basement of a quilt shop in Madison, Indiana.  It was just full of treasures.
Do you see anything you like?  There is another photo from the basement HERE.

Gossip girls

Every time I see birds on a wire like this, I think of Norman Rockwell's Post cover seen here...you have to scroll down a little bit.

My husband always thinks of this Pixar short:

For the Barn Collective

This is an old barn we passed last weekend on our ramble...
Again all those windows.  I suppose they are to let light in.  There appears to be no cracks between the boards...
I think if I owned this barn I would really try to find the time to cut the trees away from it.  It has been, and still is such a beautiful barn.  I would love for it to stand another hundred years at least.

A beautiful old house...

This is located in Bridgeton, Indiana.  I may have posted it long ago, but ran across it recently and the place just really appeals to me.
I hope you find this as attractive as I do.

Our own Valentine

She was a couple years younger here...but this will always be one of my favorite pictures of her.  She was going to a birthday party...she was invited to The Royal Ball!

Taking flight

This hawk was sitting on a light pole till I stepped out of the Rav to take its pic...it was gone too quick to talk about.  This is cropped...

Old but Good Fences

This fence is from the cemetery we came across on Sunday.  I was so glad to be out where we could stop for me to take photos.
The only think I could have wished for is for a not so drab day...still, I was able to give the pics a little better look in Picasa.
Just a bit of the details...
Oh, I also wish I had taken a shot looking down the fence...oh, well, I always think later of what I should have done.

Unique, wouldn't you say?

Found this Sunday....
I have never seen any headstone/grave marker quite like this.  I think it is just so different.

A Rubbish Tuesday post

We found this old house on a drive yesterday...

The drab, dreary day made it seem more sad.  This is all that is left of a home.  Wonder if they moved on to a bigger and better house, or did they die in this one>

For the Barn Collective...

This is the barn at the Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge...I can't believe I have not posted this before now.
Just a bit closer.

From the Ohio River

Please click to expand the view....I just tonight noticed the grill.  Do you see it?
Notice the curtains at the window right beside it?  Does someone just live on it?  Are they out for days at time, so have to have a place to sleep?

Don't ask cause I don't know...but tell me what you think

When we went down to Madison, Indiana last fall, we took this little drive.  Really in mileage, it was not all that long.  But we felt like we were in some of the little hills and hollers of my East Tennessee mountain area.  We were on roads that we would have been hard pressed to find a place to pass another vehicle.

Anyway, this is one thing we paused long enough for me to try to snatch a couple pictures of.  (Did I tell you that the roads were twisting and winding, too?)  I have no idea what it might have been...have no idea why the curtain is hanging there.  Just an odd little place to run across.  Does anyone want to tell me your guess as to what it was used for...I don't even have one this time.

It's time for Good Fences!

From the archives, I ran across this the other night and thought it would make a good shot for Good Fences.

And this is another shot taken the same day as the ones in yesterday's post.
