Just have to show you these...

We drove through the strip pit area and Roger's cousin lives near where we were at...

So we stopped by...

His wife let out their chickens.  She and I sat in a swing and talked and laughed...just watching them.

I so wish I had thought and recorded the sound.  Just such a homey sound...even when he crowed it was not at all annoying.

Roosters are one of my very favorite subjects!  I like hens, too, just not quite as much as roosters.

I do freely admit that I say that about every rooster I see.

Such a handsome rooster....

A favorite subject...

We were on one of the backroads to Mansfield with Lorelei today....I got to try to nab a few pics the chickens again.  The rooster in front is a bit on the shy side.  I don't know how many times I have tried to photograph him and he won't stay in one place for long.  I think he is actually afraid. 

The hens are not quite as bad...

but they were busy and hard to capture them at the best second...

I love photographing chickens, specially roosters.

The icing on the cake was when we were getting to Mansfield, Lorelei told me that that was her new favoritest road!

I wish I had the talent to do this.  I think it is quite the handsome rooster.  Please ignore the background that is behind his beak!

Believe it or not, both of these were at the same place.  Don't you love the variety of colors they come in?

Not the greatest shot...but I still like the look in his eye. Roger 'crowed' and this guy stopped and took notice.

I think this is my favorite rooster shot of the ones I have taken...I do wish that hen had looked up but she didn't and I wish that hens head in the lower left was not there but I didn't take the time to edit it out. I think this one is even better when enlarged.

The Big Chicken

This is outside a restaurant--I think in Attica. Though I have passed him probably 20 times or more, this is the first photo I have taken of him.
