Clematis--Niobe I think

We planted this last year...I had planted a different color and it died.  I have no idea why.  The nursery tried to give me this one...I tried to pay.  So, I ended up paying half price.

Ihis is wonderful and stunning!!! We have lots of Clematis around, but I have never seen this awesome color!! It looks like velvet magenta.

Beautiful . . . I have tried different Clematis varieties and have some luck for a few years and then they seem to vanish. I think the right setting and sunshine is the key!
