Really interesting picture! I think it is barbed, meaning it has barbs.
Barbed wire. But then I'm old fashioned. I wanna know what bozo came up with "gifted" instead of "gave". Dumb. but that has little to do with the fact that your picture is excellent!

I think it is both barbwire and barbed wire. off to look it up. wiki agrees with me it is both, depends on where we live and how we talk. wonder what they call it in UK or Europe or if they even have it....now you started me off on a tanget. love the photo

I say barbware but I know in reality it's actually barbed wire. :) What a great shot. It's also something that I have been drawn to to photograph.
I shudder when I see this. Not only have I torn clothes, but I took a chunk of my inner thigh out while climbing over such a fence years ago.Guess my short legs were a problem even then.

I have some between my yard and the field and have poked many holes in my clothes. In Texas I think it's called Barbwire, but I hear it both ways.
