Took a short drive and ended up seeing more Wood Ducks than I have ever seen...for sure at one time, and maybe in my life. Not that it was such huge amount...
These were quite a distance away....
Every shot is zoomed in, some more than others..
Aren't they beautiful...
And below is a different male.
He and two more that were with him flew away when I got out of the car.

They sure are beautiful. A rare find around here. I have only ever seen one, and from a long distance as well.
We don't seem to see them as much as we used to in the wetlands.

Good shots. We had Wood Ducks nesting in a nearby tree a few years ago. I haven't seen any since. But remember when I posted about that little duck I saw in our pond? Now I'm thinking that it might have been a Wood Duck.

the most I have ever seen together is 4 or 5. these are amazing shots. the first one I really love it... theya re all sitting every other duck looking the opposite way.... the first time I saw a woodduck, I asked diane what it was and she said wood duck. I said are you sure? why a name like that for a stunning painted duck.... this was amazing to find so many
