This one has such fine shaping, it works well in mono as well as in colour. YAM xx
They both work, but they tell different stories. A comment on your comment: We are lucky to live close to the Mountains, reasonably close to the Columbia River Gorge, just a little further away to the dry side the mountains, and reasonably close to one of the most beautiful coastlines-- the Oregon coast. We are very lucky.

I choose the color, it is almost black and white but the hint of rusty color draws me in.... I am thinking that is hay covered up by the white cover. beautiful shot

So lovely. I always like color better. But for some reason, this one looks better in black and white to me.

I just about always prefer color shot, although I do like a nice B&W once in awhile.
A very tidy barn and silo as one would expect on an Amish farm. I agree that the B&W version has more impact.
I had a tough time deciding but I love the black and white but I also love the pale red on the barn in the color version
Beautiful tones and textures in the B&W shot! I do prefer the B&W version as well.
I think that I like the color better even though the black and white brings out the textures and detail.
Although I really like black and white in this case I think the color provides better information for what we enjoy about the picture.9
My choice is the black and white version :)

I really like them both, but if I must choose... Color! I just have a thing for old barn red paint.
