Gradually changing?

Sometimes I am sure this one's color is getting lighter...other times I think it is just the way the light hits it that makes the color look different.  Whatever the facts of the matter, it sometimes looks almost black.

This is gorgeous! I love the color. I wonder if the minerals in the soil might have something to do with it. In any event, this is a stunning iris!

I wonder what causes this, maybe the different kinds of light? It is gorgeous!

I like it just the way you've shown it here, with the sparkle of raindrops providing an added bonus.

It's absolutely gorgeous. I can see how that color would look different depending on the light.

I love seeing flowers with droplets on them, whether rain or dew. If that flower almost looks bladk sometimes, you'd better get the camera out and show me (yes I used to live in the Show Me State.)

I went to your 2009 blog site as you suggested, and yes, it was much closer to black. But again it could be the light striking it. I have seen (and photographed) a black iris. Now I'll have to go see where it was posted! It wasn't mine, but a neighbor's.
